Although face-to-face masses and activities have been suspended at Our Lady of Assumption, we will be live streaming several masses during Holy Week on our Facebook page. Please see our events page for dates and times.
We will also archive these masses. You can see the archived masses on our Mass Video Archives page.
Additional live weekday masses can be found at Word on Fire: Daily Mass with Bishop Barron.
The novel COVID-19 coronavirus has created a public health threat to our Church family and community. In light of uncertainty over how widespread the virus may become in our region, the Diocese of Charlotte announces the following measures to protect the health and well-being of everyone:
- MASSES CANCELLED: In compliance with guidance issued March 15, 2020, by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Masses and all parish gatherings at all churches in the Diocese of Charlotte are to be cancelled or limited to no more than 10 people.
- SUNDAY MASS OBLIGATION WAIVED: The obligation to attend Sunday Mass is lifted for all Catholics of the diocese until further notice. Bishop Jugis asks you to please exercise prudential judgment in deciding whether to attend Mass. The dispensation from Mass does not remove the obligation to keep the Lord’s Day holy: seek to refrain from work, spend time in prayer individually and as a family, and extend charity to others. If you are unable to attend Mass, you are encouraged to make a spiritual communion:
